Shri. Maneklal Patel Saheb, the son of a farmer, was born in February 1929 in a very small village ‘Untwa’ in Kadi taluka of Mehsana district of North Gujarat. He grew up in a culture that instilled in him the values of generosity, philanthropy, and social service. He had faced many difficulties and obstacles since his childhood, but he turned challenges into opportunities with the immense strength of his personality and courage.

During his school days, this learned student was honored by the famous national shire poet Shri Zaverchand Meghani. He completed his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in law and passed the Bar Councilor exam and obtained a license to be a lawyer. Being an expert in economics and law, he was able to prove himself as a very good administrator. He chose to work as the Chief Officer of Kadi Municipality in 1958. Sahebshree, who is rich in psychology with zealous organizational ability, enthusiasm and courage, served the city for about 15 years and took many corrective steps for the development of the link as a city.

He has been awarded “Patidar Shrestha Shiromani” by Shri Sachchidananda for his contribution to society. His efforts for the upliftment of the semi-urban area of Kadi were awarded the “Anart Award”, which he was honored by Swami Satyamitranandagiriji and Pujya Krishnashankar Shastri. The then Hon’ble Revenue Minister Shri Anandiben Patel presented the award for his contribution in society, education, trade and industry. Words like the book ‘Karma Chudamani – Shri Maneklal’ published by Shri Mohanlal Patel Sahitya Vartul were honored. Shri Umiya Mataji Sanstha applauded his efforts. He was a man of insistence on equality and morality. Were honored by President Jailsinghji. He proved himself to be a brilliant student, a caring family member, a successful businessman, a hardworking social worker, and an excellent administrator. He is always remembered as a source of inspiration for philanthropic work in the state of Gujarat.
